Your trademark got objected. Here's what actually happens next
An examination report is not a rejection. Most objections are answerable — but the reply window is not generous.

The email from the Registry says "objected" and founders panic. They usually shouldn't. A large share of Indian trademark applications receive an examination report, and many are overcome.
The two things examiners raise
The mark is descriptive or lacks distinctiveness. A mark that simply describes what you sell attracts this. The reply argues either that the mark is distinctive taken as a whole, or that it has acquired distinctiveness through use — which is where invoices, advertising and social proof stop being marketing material and start being evidence.
The mark conflicts with an earlier mark. The examiner has found something identical or deceptively similar in the same or a related class. The reply distinguishes the marks visually, phonetically and conceptually, points to differences in the goods and channels of trade, and where it can be obtained, produces a consent letter from the cited proprietor.
The window matters more than the argument
There is a limited period to reply from the date the report is issued. Miss it and the application can be treated as abandoned. Send the report to whoever is handling your mark the day you receive it — not the week after.
If the reply does not land
The Registry schedules a hearing, where your representative appears and argues the matter. If it still fails, further options exist but they get expensive.
What actually prevents this
A proper search before filing. Descriptive marks and near-identical marks in the same class are predictable problems — they show up in a search, and they are much cheaper to discover before filing than after. That is why we run the search and confirm the class before anyone pays a government fee.
One thing to be clear about
Objection replies and hearings are separate work from the original filing, with their own professional fee. Anyone who tells you objections are "included" has either priced them into the filing already or is planning to have an awkward conversation with you later.
